The endurance format is so appealing to me because it allows you to plan, and make adjustments more so than any other format. Preparation prior to the event, allows you to focus more on the racing, and gives you an edge over competitiors who have not invested the time in preparation and support, that I know my teammates and I do. I have also been lucky to have some great coaches along the way: Katie Compton, Cass Ramierez, and most recently Slick Rick. Each year, I feel myself getting better, getting smarter. I will never be a dominate rider, but I believe that I will continue to be in the mix. Maybe there are some guys who don’t have to work hard at this, me however, it takes every effort, every thing I have. And you know I love it. I’m damn lucky to have a wife that is supportive of me, and my efforts. Who deals with me going to bed too early the night before a race, and spending too much money at the shop, and lusting after things like cranks and forks; Refusing to spend money on clothing or haircuts but be willing to drop cash on bikes, no questions asked. She is my pragmatic support, and provides me honest feedback when I need it most. Posted by Picasa
