As a cyclist I am not all that talented. What success I have garnered racing has been the product of me being committed to getting better, being committed to working hard at this game. These efforts, the resulting progression is what contiues to drive me. I feel like each year I am getting better. I recognize that I shine most in team 24hr events. I attribute this to a couple of things. First I am surrounded by great teammates. I do these events with people I trust inheriently, and who I know approach this game the same way I do. An example of this was at Lodi where after we went through our first rotation we had a very small lead. Lauri looked at me and said, “don’t sweat it, we’ve been through this, they will crack, and when the sun comes up, we’ll pull away.” That’s pretty much exactly how it went down.
