Monk was cutting my hair yesterday and stopped about halfway through. She smiles and says to me, "you know if I stopped cutting your hair right now, you'd have a reverse mullet... Business in the Back, Party in the front."
We both laughed. She finished cutting my hair.
I put new grips on my bike tonight. I have to admit grips or tape on a cross/road bike is a bigger deal for me than would seem. I have this weird manual dexterity thing going on. If I have my choice, I'd go glove-less. However, based on weather and terrain sometimes that's not possible. I've blistered my hands before trying to be a tough guy. Gotten frost bite before too.
I'm not sure I can explain it, it's been that way as long as I can remember. Hell, even when I was still skating, my hardest tricks, biggest gaps, whatever, I had to take my gloves off, even if I never even touched the board with my hands.
In cross races, I often find myself taking off my gloves if I'm not happy with how I'm handling the bike, or if a course seems to require a little better driving or perhaps just a better touch. Heck on a recent road ride, I pulled off my gloves as we rode towards the peppy section...
Makes no sense to me at all, but it is what it is, a bad tape job, or grips with too much padding, and it frankly the bike never corners the way I want... The bike just feels off...
So I got new grips. They feel pretty good, and I feel like this set will work out nicely.

Totally with ya man. I'm a bar tape fanatic. I quit wearing gloves for 'cross, more or less. Had a magical relay lap w/o gloves once tilll my hands went numb.
Now a bike shop is no longer the only place to find a great bike, you can find one online and have it shipped to your door and assembled in under ten minutes.

The Toyota Previa's spaceship-like interior is roomy and comfortable. Fit and finish is very good. Driver's place is comfortable; great visibility.
