Yellow jersey working together...
The team work and comraderie of the team was inspiring...

This afternoon I spent some time reading the Tour de Hope website, and reading about some of the riders I had the extreme pleasure of riding with today. These are truly amazing and strong people. There was one woman who was turning herself inside out all day today. She was working incredibly hard, and I was really surprised with her tenacity. After the ride, Katie was explaining to me that she has greatly reduced lung capacity as a result of her cancer. That basically she was using one lung. I was already in awe of how hard she worked, but then. Wow. I know I can't express how much respect I have for her, for all of these riders.

As you may or not know Keith G (bobby's boy) has been fighting testicular cancer this year. I talked to him today about the Tour of Hope; I think he would be awesome on this team. When ever I talk to him, he has so much energy, so much positively about what he is going through. This week Keith starts his last cycle of chemo. Again, he is tired, but he is positive. He looks forward to getting through this and getting back to the bike this fall. I am proud to know this dude. I look forward to riding with him again soon.

marc-
glad you got to connect with those folks
I could use a little perspective in my life
we take so much for granted....

that saying... "you have your health"
well... we have much more than that

these people who have rebounded from cancer know what that saying means to a level I hope to never understand

there was a great PBS documentary called Heart of the Sea about Rel Sun a Hawian Surfer who got breast cancer
she knew how to live
it is inspirational

look for it on line
hope you had a good weekend
