5:30 PWC. Holy Crap it was hard tonight. Perhaps the hardest I have done this year. The fact that it was hot as all shit didn't help any. A lot of riders rolled out of the lot to settle tonight's Peoples World Championship. In my slightly inebriated condition I know I'll miss someone but I'm a drunk spot brand whore, don't blame me too much.
Dan the man, Slick Rick, Prez Jay, Spot Brand Whore (that's me folks), Pop in fresh Cohen, Billy V, Everybody loves Ying, Dave Hall, Matty D (skinny bitch),George, Spencer, Christian, Dana, John Hagen, Postal/Disco Dave sans areobars, Blair on his mountain bike, tri-guy who got yelled at for being in the wrong place...
sorry if I missed you. Okay, it was fast, a couple of times I thought I was done; we had 2 flats, pretty early. As usual I tried to be smart. Ego got in the way a bit as we had a nice big group at the front consistently pulling through. That was cool. For the record, drafting Ying is no picnic either. I need a big ass to follow. No questioning his wisdom, but I swear that dude accelerates each time before he pulls off. Totally screws me. Ride was really fun. Made it over dog hill. Dan the man pat me on the back and said, "dude, you're riding well." I needed that as I was ready to blow chunks and go home. Made if over the rise were I have been dropped previously, stayed with the group. Matty D was rallying to do the locus point extension; Dan the man brought some sanity back to the group as we went up 213. I thanked him profusely. Setting up the sprint, Slick Rick and I went to the front, and lead Dan the man out, problem is we dropped him off about a mile before the sprint line. Fuck, gotta remember it's the second sign not the first. Sorry Dan. I think Matty D took the sprint, but I could be wrong. I guess it's always bad when you drop off your sprinter and he says, "shit." Anyway, back at the lot Billy V, said, "you got 60% now." which I didn't recognize at first but he was right, 3 out 5 rides I haven't been dropped. Yeah that was cool. Billy gave me a pepsi which kept me from puking. Thanks dude. Group was just so good tonight, everyone suffered but everyone worked hard together. I am by no means a good road rider, but tonight was fun. At the end of the ride I thanked everyone, I was grateful to be a part of this celebration. Thanks folks. Prez Jay rode his ass off tonight, very impressive. Matty D did some feats of flexibility for us before the ride. Fucking freak.
