We have a big garden tub. Our dogs when they would like a drink will jump into the tub and wait patiently for us to turn on the faucet and thus they have cool refreshing water. When they are done drinking they jump out of the tub and we turn off the faucett. I always figure this is better than them helping themselves to the toilet bowl.
Well, last night, ole Layla was getting a drink; Diane turned off the water, turned out the light and came to bed. For the next 10 minutes, Diane and I laughed hysterically as Layla could not get out of the tub in the dark. She barked, you could hear her jump, you could hear her lean over the edge, but in the end, she could not, she would not jump out of the tub. Mind you, she has jumped in and out of this tub hundreds of times. So finally, when we had the realization that she really would not get out of the tub, I turned the light on only to find her lying on her chest on the edge of the tub, stretching her paws to the floor outside of the tub, reaching for the floor. Her paws were just inches from the floor, but because she could see the floor, she wouldn’t commit to pushing over that edge. I laughed out loud. Silly pooch.
Swamp Ass Conditions are upon us in the Mid Atlantic. Diane and I rode white clay last night. Both of us rode very lethargically. I am still feeling the effects of a ver
y good weekend of riding, and the heat and humidity were brutal. We cut our loop a little short, and headed home. Both of us are pretty prepared for the weekend of 12 of muchy. It should be a good time. Started packing this morning; Sent an email to all of the teammates last night. Everything is starting to come together. Hope to get some openers in tomorrow morning before work… Here we go again, getting excited for a road trip, and another race... Anyone down with a 6:00am white clay ride?respect
