Fitzy-
The man is clutch. I would be lying if I said that there were not times when I say to myself, “what the hell was Fitzy thinking?” But I love this guy. I know Fitzy was very disappointed with how he was distracted from his plan at Lodi, and I know he wanted to get back to it today. He did. Fitzy finished up with 10 laps and put in a hell of a ride. More importantly listen to this. Amy had pulled her derailleur into her spokes, and couldn’t get it fixed. Fitzy, stopped and helped her get the bike running again, and then paced her in, not only that, he then paced Diane on her last lap, and Diane told me, “ he kept me going, he was so nice, just kept urging me on.” She continued praising “without Fitzy, I’m not sure I would have made the cut off.” Fitzy had a great ride himself, more importantly in my eyes, was a total team player. Here’s the ass kicker of the day. Fitzy started the race on his 3 speed, in the open solo class. After his first 2 laps the 3 speed shit the bed, so Fitzy went out and rolled the final 8 laps on his single. Had he race the entire race single speed, he would have been on the podium in the solo single speed class. Very frankly, the conditions on the first two laps were the best all day. I was a little bummed for Fitzy, but I also knew how satisfied he was with his ride.

Dearest Fitzy,

I am single and I love candlelit dinners, daisies, and puppy dogs. I'm also a big, hairy dude, but please don't hold that against me. You can pedal my bike anytime, buddy.
