Podium Shot of Some Dudes...
Rigid Single Speed:
Not surprising this was the most competitive class. All tough guys. I kinda described it as every town's Single Speed Bad Asses all bellying up to the table and throwing down. The top four teams exchanged the lead through out the night in a close nip and tuck battle. In the end, the Delta Niners, a local team, won the race by 6 minutes over Hawxton and Paxton, we finished up 3rd just 18 minutes back of them. To give you a feeling of how tough single speed was, 3 of the top 10 fastest teams, out of all 150 teams, were single speeders. Yeah that is pretty bad ass.
I was really proud of my teammates, and how hard we worked. I can't say enough about Buddy, Andrew and Matt. I was lucky to have such fun, such hard working, such supportive teammates. It was awesome. Also have to thank Fitzy again for his tireless efforts, giving us splits, making sure we were fed, had clothes to shower with, as always he is awesome. Although he picked up another win with the chicks, we were a little bummed we broke his undefeated streak. Fitzy took it in stride. 5 wins and a bronze (Kerry says bronze sounds better than 3rd), that's not too shabby. Fitzy smiled," No one is undefeated forever!"
