Biketopia

Maybe 3 weeks a go I got an email from Frank the owner of Biketopia a sweet shop in a suburb of Philly. He asked if would come in and do a talk to some of his customers about single speed mountain biking. I was honored to have such a request, and last night I took my power point presentation in and talked about what I felt were the benefits of single speeds to an intimate crowd of folks. Frank has a great shop. When you walk in you feel like you are walking into an old friend’s place. It is very down to earth, has loyal neighbors, loyal customers, and really good energy. I had never given a presentation on single speeding before so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. The folks were super nice, and had a lot of great questions. I felt a little weird sometime because I spoke so much about how great it is in our community and how single speed became big in our town. When asked where I thought the hot beds for single speeding are I said, "Newark, DE." then followed up with " Philly, DC , State college, and some guys in Colorado really like 'em" Todd don’t be surprised if someone asks you for your autograph. Frank and all the Biketopia guys and gals were very gracious, and I hope they had as much fun as I did. I tried to not pimp Spot Brand too much, but you know I am the Spot Brand Whore…

Marc,
Kudos to you for doing a bang-up job with the clinic. Your knowledge regarding all things SS while encompassing other facets of cycling was intuitive and concise. I need to re-think my approach regarding bells and horns after hearing your tremedous tales of "legendary" bells or horns.
My doors are always open to you and your militia, come by anytime.
Rispetto,
Frank
