No Vincent Gallo in this run, but he is a sick mofo... Quick Movie Reviews:
Okay I've been slacking on my movie stuff recently but here's what I got.
In Good Company-
Topher Grace, Dennis Quaid, and Scarlet Johansen. Scarlet Johansen is hands down the most beautiful woman on the planet. It was worth the time to look at her in this film. Movie was very solid and didn't have a Hollywood ending. That made me happy. Very entertaining, liked all the characters and it was good watching them come together and grow. I like the message of do something you believe in. When Topher quit that 70's show I have to say I was like, okay that was smart, ever hear of Rob Lowe or maybe you can end up in a movie with a monkey like that fool from Joey. However, he was very good in this, much better than that Tad Hamilton crap. Worth the watch.
Shaun of the Dead.
Zombie movie. Well, kinda. Basically the tale of Shaun an English working class fellow, perhaps a bit of a slacker. When the world starts to fall apart around him he takes action. It's funny, not beer out your nose funny, but English, smart funny. I'm not usually a big zombie movie guy, but I have to admit I enjoyed this. Best of all, they never really focused on the zombies, more on my man Shaun, who just happens to be struggling through his day, whether he has to deal with a smart ass 17 year old, or a field full of zombies. He's just surviving. Not great, but sure as hell beats Friends re-runs...
Triathlon of BBQs...
The 4th was a long, but great day. After my ride we high tailed to my outlaws for a slamming picnic. I had like 4 hot sausages. It was good to see the family. The overall feel was pretty mellow, I got to feed and hold my newest nephew Justin, who I nicknamed Super Chunk.
Next we rushed home and to my next door neighbors party, Bonnie. Bonnie had a sick lay out of food highlighted by a fantastic tortellini salad, and really good crab dip. All the food was excellent. Got to meet a number of neighbors I previously didn't know. They were like "you guys are the weird bike people." Great not only do the neighbors call us bike people (which we are) we are also weird. (well, okay maybe a little.) Regardless they were all very nice, and it was great to meet them.
The day ended with a mad dash to my parents and then the U of D fireworks show. Which was spectacular. Have to admit this is one of my favorite traditions, my entire local side of the family sitting on a blanket, talking smack and watching fireworks. It was pretty great, spent 45 minute in the parking lot waiting to get out, but otherwise it was a really a good day. Lots of food, lots of beer, lots of fun. Best holiday in a long time.

You and my husband need to get together to compare Scarlett Johanssen notes. Then again, maybe not, whenever he sees a movie with her I think he'd prefer a minute alone....
