030: yeah, I'm a douche

I am a douche.

So Dan asked me to write up a little bio about myself for the cross camp bikereg page. I thought to myself, why the hell would someone want to listen to me about cyclocross racing? I’m a freaking mid pack master’s racer. So I started writing about the things I am proud of in my cyclocross life, and here is what I came up with:

Fatmarc, has been racing cyclocross in the Mid Atlantic since 1997. A promoter of Granogue Cross, arguablely the crown jewel of all Mid Atlantic Cross races, the Fatone brings a variety of promotion, and racing experiences to the table. Fatmarc, a multi-time state medalist, and state champion in 1999, has been a member of 5 MAC Cup Championship teams, directing the Wooden Wheels teams to titles in 1999 and 2000. A founding member of the Delaware Cyclocross Coalition of Delaware, Vanderbacon has been coaching cyclocross and directing weekly cross practices for the better part of a decade. A CAT 2 Masters cross racer, fatmarc has been a board member of MABRA Cross board, and is currently a board member for MAC Cross. Fatmarc currently is coached by JBV Coach Chris Mayhew and is a member of the C3: twenty 20 cycling company cross team.

The problem is the other coaches went a little more basic than I did:

Chris Mayhew is the associate coach for JBV Coaching. He has over 15 years of experience racing road, mtb and 'cross in the Ohio Valley and Mid Atlantic regions. Chris has learned lessons the hard way so you don't have to. For more information visit http://www.jbvcoaching.com/.

Dan Tille is the owner & president of Fulcrum Coaching and has raced road, mtb & cyclocross since 2000. He is currently working on his Masters degree in Exercise Physiology and coaches and races in the Mid Atlantic/DC area. For more information on Dan visit http://www.fulcrumcoaching.com/.

Rusty Williford is an associate coach with Fulcrum Coaching. He has over 10 years of race experience in Southern California, Canada, Ohio Valley and the Mid-Atlantic. Rusty is an officer in the US Air Force, husband, father, and a rabid bike junkie. For more information visit http://www.fulcrumcoaching.com/.

No one told me that it was a three sentence bio? I was thinking more along the lines of why they hell would anyone care what I had to say about cyclocross?

I am a douche.

Mercifully, Dan and Chris decided to use an edited version, but only after making me sweat for a few hours. That was embarrassing.

I need instructions people. I am long winded. I have a blog. I'm not very bright.
I was really embarrassed on this one…

The camp was awesome fun and a great learning experience last year, I expect it will be even better this year. Are you coming?

info on the camp monday!

Thanks for reading.

respect.

what's awesome about that is I saw the long version on bikereg and wondered what was up with it! LOL. At least you turned yours in on time - I would guess that Rusty might've been late b/c he was missing. Looking forward to camp again this year!! I'm moving up to the next group- hope you are too based on that resume.

Douchey le Douche, the Douchester. That could be your hobo name. It can be name #701. Although I'm partial to #632: His Excellency Nooney Sockjelly

You were just being helpful. Don't be so hard on yourself.
