A rock and a hard place.

Just last night my coach/adviser called me and we had a long talk about being patient. About remembering that I'm on track, the plan is coming together, I am riding well, and the goal was to extend the season. The Professor knew I was frustrated, and we talked about easing into intensity and not killing myself too quickly. We also talked about not killing myself on all the group rides. Burying myself for a 1:30 group ride that kills the rest of the week is just not worth it, although fun, it will in the hurt me more than help me. I agreed, I hung up the phone with a sense of determination, and pride. I am focused on my goals.

I think this is Buddy. Dude is riding sick good. I am lucky to get to ride with him.

So tonight, yeah I did a fast group ride. Back in school I studied Mythology, Cybdus and Kyrabda were sea monsters that would lure ships in between them and destroy them, A rock and a hard place was what my teacher, Ms. Posatko would call Cybdus and Kyrabda. Tonight I spent the night riding behind Matt, and in front of Buddy. Clearly, a rock and a hard place. Matt rode great tonight. He was feeling it. He rode super smooth, and over every roller was just on top of the damn gear. Slick Rick rode with us, out of respect for the single Slick Rick rode in fourth position, steady pushing the big ring. I hung in all night, and on a couple occasions just when I was riding the edge just a little too hard, I asked Matt to back off just a little and very kindly he did. My technique felt good tonight, starting to get used to riding with suspension again. My legs are beat, but it was a good ride. Professor I promise to ride easy tomorrow, and not totally kill myself.

Matt tackles skinny bridge with authority.

This has been a good week for me. I was sick and pretty down and out. But each day I've ridden, and I felt a little better. Still have a dry cough, but that might be from the dusty trails. Check out this weeks riding:
Monday- Fairhill
Tuesday- White Clay
Wednesday- Fairhill
Thursday- White Clay and Middlerun

Yeah, life is good. I get to ride in the gardens of the gods for sure. Anyway, I'm going to soak my sore legs and to drink some OJ.

Respect

Gummy Bears, and White Clay...

I love gummy bears. The fruity flavors are certainly enjoyable, but the texture also really adds something to the experience. They are soft and light in your mouth, and a really good gummy bear will be very soft to chew. Sometimes when gummy bears get a little stale they are hard to chew. In fact, I have heard where people have hurt themselves try to chew a stale gummy bear. Nothing like fresh fruity gummy bears. Now, when gummy bears started getting popular, you know Paris and Lindsey where eating them at all the clubs, many tried to come out with other variation of gummy animals. The Gummy elephant, gummy puppy, gummy Volkswagen, gummy guitars, even gummy shoes. Many of these, while made of the same gummy goodness, just were not the right shape or size, and in the end failed. Many a hopeful gummy investor, bounced a few checks on the gummy crazy. Yes, even gummy worms, which have a nice taste, are a little gross when in the mouth. Perhaps too reminiscent of what a real worm would feel like in the mouth. Not that any of the bullies in my neighborhood ever made me eat worms or anything. So for me, it has to be the original, the best, Gummy bears. I love gummy bears.

Rode white clay today. Hit all the trails, just over an hour. It was fun, saw a lot of people. That was nice. I rode the new skinny bridge. It did take me 2 passes, almost stacked it the first time. One of the people I saw was Saint Bartoo, I thanked him for his system. Jebbagger was laying the wood to Saint Bartoo. You gotta be nice to him Jebbager. I also saw Alan C adn Rob both cruising on new Rigs. It's getting weird not being the only 29er in the woods anymore. I had fun. Damn I love to ride my bike.

Perhaps an even better indicator than Paxatuney Phil not seeing his shadow, is when there are more bikes in the garage than the basement, spring is certainly upon us. Posted by Hello

sometimes I wake up grumpy, sometimes I let her sleep.

Chunky Monkey (Diane) runs wild at White Clay today... Posted by Hello

Hello, My name is fatmarc. And this is my blog. I have been under the weather lately and basically sleeping like 18 out of 24 hrs. Started back to work Thursday, and when I got home, yup back to sleep. Today I ventured out on my Spanking New Spot, only to find I had a tear in the side wall of my tire. I bumped into my brother James, who was kind enough to walk with me back to the car. James laid the smack on me a bit. “ what’s up with the blog lately ?” no rest for the wicked.

Chunky Monkey's gonna blow up ! Posted by Hello

Chunky Monkey went riding with our sister in law today. Tab. Diane (CM) took her to white clay. It was Tab's first mountain bike ride ever. Now that seems weird, in my world. Anyway, Tab was giving Diane grief, about me not updating the blog too. Sorry folks, nothing interesting, just sleeping on the couch.

Monkey and I went riding today too. It was short, but it was beautiful outside. Luckily I have a bad ass old Spot too. The trails were great, I was happy to be out. We also ventured into town for a bite to eat. People were everywhere. It was good. We passed a house that had some dudes having a lawn party. They had a banner that said,

"You Honk, We Drink !"

But my favorite thing I saw this weekend was a T-shirt that said,

"Sometimes I wake up Grumpy, Sometimes I let her sleep."

That was pretty perfect, and if I can find it I'll buy that bad boy.
